The new school year is underway and so are many public safety classes.  The following classes have either started or will be beginning shortly:  four Basic EMT, one Basic EMT Refresher, two Intermediate ’85, two Fire Fighter I Transitions, one Paramedic Anatomy and Physiology.

Plans are underway for the second Paramedic Class here at Four County Career Center in conjunction with Medical University of Ohio at Toledo.  The course is scheduled for January 2007.  There are a few openings left so give us a call and reserve your spot.

The American Heart Association CPR/ECC Training Center at Four County Career Center recently underwent a review and site inspection.  We are proud to say we passed with flying colors.  The inspection looks at the training facility and equipment, course and student records, and an administrative review.  Congratulations!!

News Release – January 19, 2006

Our Programmable Logic Controller program has been very successful in helping our students reduce their plant’s down time associated with the various I/O components used in complex machinery and production line settings.

This has paved the way for the new “hands-on” program on Variable Frequency Drives. In this class, the student can expect to learn the basics of the VFDs, terminology, programming and basic troubleshooting of the common failure components.

AC and DC types of drive units along with inverter types of drives are covered. Upon completion, the student will be able to identify the sections of a drive unit, have a basic understanding of where to start the troubleshooting process, wiring and the commissioning of these units. Class size is limited to ten students.

We have also had several requests for advanced computer classes.  We plan to schedule FrontPage I and II and Excel Macros classes in the near future.  FrontPage is a Web design class where you will create, modify and format websites plus much more.  Excel Macros introduces you to personal and workbook macros.  A macro is a single computer instruction that initiates a series of additional instructions for a computer to perform.  We are also planning a basic keyboarding class to be held in Bryan.

If you would like additional information on the above classes or any of Four County Career Center Adult Workforce Education offerings, please contact us at 800/589-3334 ext. 2703
