The Farm Business Planning and Analysis Program (FBPA) can help your farm operation meet the challenges of agricultural production in this ever-changing environment.

The need for accurate and current financial records is becoming an ever more important part of your farming operation.  Good management decisions about expansion, machinery replacement, debt restructure, or land acquisition can not be made unless you know where you are and where you are going financially.  Legislation is forcing banks to substantiate their loans with much better records.  Securing operating funds, capital improvements, or longer term loans with good readable records is much easier using the TABS Program (The Agricultural Business System).

The FBPA Program is divided between formal classroom courses and one-on-one assistance and consulting on your farm.  New clients will normally take two courses their first year.  The Introduction to Computing course will be helpful to those who are thinking about buying a computer, have bought a computer but are not comfortable using it, or anyone who has not taken a Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Works course.

The TABS course is really the heart of the FBPA Program.  This course will be a combination of teaching record keeping principles and introducing clients to a farm accounting software package.  This complete farm accounting package is available to new clients as part of the program at no additional charge.  TABS offers on farm support, classroom instruction, and telephone support to its users.

The FBPA Program is pleased this year to announce the introduction of TABS for Windows 2.0.  This has been a two and a half year project to bring the DOS based TABS Program to the Windows platform.  TABS is now even easier to use and has new features that will make your record keeping a breeze. The new version is only the beginning of improvements that will be made to the program.  The program will require Windows 95 or newer operating system, 16 Meg of Ram (32+ is better), and an additional 5 Meg of hard disc space.  Existing clients will be updated to the new software.
