Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) Coordinator Cathy Dukes has been with the Adult Education Division since 1989. As ABLE coordinator, Cathy facilitates basic skills education for adults in eleven sites throughout the Four County area. With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in business and additional graduate work from Murray State University, Cathys educational and business experience has given her an extensive background in dealing with adult populations. Her past employment as an elementary school teacher, high school substitute and an instructor and coordinator with Stautzenberger College has exposed her to various academic programs for learners of all ages. Cathy is a strong believer in lifelong learning and is active in many professional development opportunities allowing her to update professional and instructional skills. As a resident of Bryan, Cathy is active in her church, and a doting grandmother to her three grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and refinishing furniture. In addition to coordinating the ABLE program, Cathy serves as a part-time ABLE instructor.
