First Responder - 40 HoursFirst Responder is a comprehensive course for those individuals who are likely to be the first to respond to an emergency. It offers the same knowledge base as an EMT with use of minimal first aid equipment. Topics include diagnostic signs and patient examination; airway care and pulmonary resuscitation; two-rescuer CPR; shock, bleeding, and primary patient survey; injuries to the extremities, tissues, and internal organs; splinting; skull, spine, and chest injuries; heart attack; stroke; diabetes; epilepsy; poisons and drugs; childbirth; moving patients; burns and exposure to heat and cold; triage; review of vital signs and patient assessments; and field training. Textbook and workbook fees are not included in the cost of the class. EMT-Basic

4 Hours and Child/Infant - 6 Hours
This program is available to anyone who wishes to become certified in CPR training techniques. Everyone should learn this lifesaving skill. The textbook is included in this course at no additional fee.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.
(Communicable Disease)
This course is designed for anyone who could come into contact with blood or blood-contaminated body fluids in the course of their work. It follows OSHA standards which include communicable diseases, prevention/protection from infection, protective barriers, hand washing, handling of sharps, hepatitis-B vaccination, cleaning of spills, disposal of contaminated articles, and post-exposure procedures.
There is no text-book fee for this course.
